Thailand (Bangkok / Khao Yai) (2018)

In December 2018, Yoke Fong and I visited Thailand. (Second trip to Thailand for Yoke Fong, first for me.)

This overseas trip is also the second in one year (after Surabaya in May 2018). Our previous double trips overseas in one year were in 2014 (Taiwan and Vietnam) and in 2017 (Beijing and Hangzhou).

In our eight days, seven nights trip, we covered Bangkok, Ayutthaya and Khao Yai.

Indonesia (Surabaya) (2018)

 

In May 2018, Yoke Fong and I made our second trip to Indonesia (after Bali in 2009).

I was working in Brunei at that time. We did a five days, 4 nights trip to Surabaya where we visited Mount Bromo (an active volcano) and Mount Ijen (a dormant volcano).

It was a life-changing experience to be standing on the edge of a crater of an active volcano. I remember that as a child, I sketched a picture of an adventurer standing on the edge of a crater of an active volcano. So this was a sort of prophecy being fulfilled!

Our driver did a wonderful job taking us around to places at the eastern part of Java Island.
