Our first trip to China!
Guilin was amazing. Heard much about Guilin before our trip there in December of 2011 (I could not even pronounce 'Guilin' correctly before this trip😂). Previously, I had seen numerous pictures of the famous karst mountains of Guilin ~ a source of inspiration for many artists throughout China.
Yoke Fong and I took the cruise along the mighty Li River and from that ferry we get lots of spectacular views of the karst mountains and other fascinating landscapes.
The seven-hour cruise took us south to a tiny touristy town called "Yangshuo".
Western tourists were many there and the highlight of that place is an outdoor play ~ claimed to be the biggest in the world!
